As part of its commitment to expanding convenient access to specialty healthcare, Hannibal Clinic recruited Shane LaRue, MD, cardiologist, to its team of physicians and advanced practitioners.
“We’re excited for Dr. LaRue to join Drs. Richard Ha and Dana Valencia in serving the cardiology needs of our communities,” said Randy Jobe, Administrator at Hannibal Clinic. “His patient-centered approach to medicine, coupled with his medical expertise, will benefit patients in the region for years to come.”
His office is located within Hannibal Clinic’s main campus facility, 100 Medical Drive in Hannibal.
“I really enjoy cardiology because the physiology can be interesting and challenging,” Dr. LaRue said. “You get to take care of patients over a longer period of time and develop a relationship with the patient and their family, which can be very rewarding.”
Dr. LaRue is certified in Cardiovascular Diseases, Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine and in Adult Echocardiography by the National Board of Echocardiography.
He earned his Doctor of Medicine Degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin and a Master of Population Health from Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. LaRue also holds an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry.
