Caring for people has always come naturally to me, so a career in medicine was an easy choice. I have found a true passion caring for children. I love helping parents set healthy routines and habits which their children carry throughout their life.
The most rewarding aspect of caring for children is watching them grown and learn. Celebrating the successes with parents is the best feeling, but I am also there for them during the hard times as well. I am always willing to take the time to listen to their concerns and help find a solution, whether its a medical need or simply a shoulder to lean on. I enjoy getting to know my patients and building a relationship with them.
Being from a small town I often see my patients outside of the clinic and get to know them on a much more personal note. When first meeting families, I really get to know them. I want parents to know they can trust me with any concern or problem. I also want to understand their family dynamic as this all has an impact on the types of treatment plans we choose. I want patients and families to feel comfortable with the treatment plans. I ensure all questions are answered before the visit is complete and encourage parents to call with questions.
